S&S Firestone, Inc. is now searching for an experienced Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP Developer to join our IT Department at the Corporate Office in Lexington, KY

Description
We are looking for an experienced PHP and Database developer who is dedicated to their craft, has a passion for creative coding and can hit the ground running working with an experienced development team. You will be a part of a creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through the product development life cycle, and on to end-to-end testing and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Write efficient, well designed, scalable code
• Produce detailed specifications and documentation
• Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software and database integration to ensure strong optimization and functionality
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
• Follow industry best practices always with a focus on security and optimization
• Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary

Requirements

• Proven software development experience in PHP and MySQL and RHEL or other Linux environments
• Understanding of open-source development tools such as Eclipse, Apache, MongoDB, Flask and Django
• Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, etc
• Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
• Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and it’s workarounds.
• Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services
• Experience in common third-party APIs (Google maps, Google charts)
• Experience building modern web services (SOAP, RESTful, XML)
• Some knowledge of Linux command line and operating environment
• Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to bring bold, new ideas to development.
