The client is an established Local Government organisation

Job Description

Prepare the timely and accurate preparation of the annual budget, long term financial plan, quarterly and monthly financial management reports, capital works reports, KPI indicators and other regulatory reporting requirements.
Development of financial management systems that enhance the quality and timeliness of all management and budgetary performance monitoring information.
Lead the management accounting function to deliver effective finance business partnering across the organisation.
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, accounting standards and all Council policies and procedures.
Provide input into Council policy and strategic documents as it relates to best practice accounting services.
Drive improvements in processes and procedures.
Authorise Council’s banking and a signatory for cheques

CPA or CA status or studying. Similar qualifications will be considered.
Essential to have experience within he Government sector
Ideally be Immediately Available or able to start at a short notice
Previous experience in senior level management accounting with demonstrated ability to manage the budget process.
Substantial experience in analysing and implementing financial information systems.
Proven capacity to meet tight reporting timelines.
Ability to negotiate and resolve complex issues.
Superior financial modelling, spread sheeting and reporting skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
