Purpose Of Role:

Experienced Finance Assistant required to work closely with the Head of Finance on all the day to day tasks involved in an accounts department. The company is experiencing rapid growth in the fashion industry and this role has a great opportunity for progression.

MainAccountabilities:

• Ensuring accuracy & efficiency of the accounting processes
• Maintaining compliance with accounting and taxation standards

Job Duties

• Processing of invoices and payments using Xero & Dext.
• Ensuring budget holders are keeping accurate records of their expenditure
• Daily reconciliation of the bank, paypal & credit cards against sales & purchase ledger
• Management and reconciliation of trade finance facility
• Implementing and ensuring compliance of financial processes for the whole company. Discussing with the team where issues arise and amending processes accordingly. This will involve assisting with implementation of an improved tech stack around the accounting system.
• Setting up supplier payments for sign off from the Head of Finance.
• Process journal transactions within Xero
• Regular reviewing of invoices and monitoring of expenditure within the departments
• Identification of cost savings for the business
• Processing of return payments to clients
• Undertaking financial analysis to support the requirements of the business
• Preparation of payroll including discussions with team leaders & external payroll providers, setting up BACS runs for review and paying employees and PAYE.
• Assisting with compliance with MTD VAT, PAYE, CT and R&D submissions.
• Assist with Month End reconciliations of the balance sheet
• Adhoc tasks as required by the Head of Finance and wider business requirements.

Experience & Skills:

• A minimum of 3 years working within an accounts department
• An exceptional analytical mind with a commercial focus & attention to detail
• Ability to challenge senior members of staff regarding processes and procedures
• Qualified (AAT) or Qualified by Experience
• Excellent Excel skills including Pivot tables, VLookups, Graphs etc
• Experience using Xero is essential
• Experience using Dext, A2X, approvalmax & Shopify are desirable
• Ability to self-manage and organise, given competing deadlines and priorities
