About the NLC

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure the accurate and timely processing of finance activities in accordance with NLC processes and delegations.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Finance area; including data entry into NLC financial systems and other support applications.
• Actively participate as a member of the Finance team to deliver best practice service to NLC’s internal and external stakeholders and ensure effective and collaborative working relationships with staff across the organisation.
• Undertake a variety of tasks of a financial nature, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. :
• Responsible for the maintenance and administration of the Cost Recovery Management (CRM) system, including providing training to new users as required.
• Responsible for the preparation of costing templates for SAGE and CRM, ensuring quotes are reviewed prior to submission to proponents.
• Process travel allowance payments for Employees and Council Members ensuring that regular reconciliations are undertaken and travel allowance acquittals are completed and submitted.

About you

To thrive in this role you will have:

• Significant demonstrated knowledge, understanding and respect of Indigenous Australian culture, customs and society including the current social issues and their impact on aboriginal people in the Northern Territory.
• Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office including good working knowledge of excel and experience in using a financial management information system; previous experience with SAGE (ACCPAC) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Sound analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret reports, contracts and financial information.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate respectfully with a wide range of stakeholders.

Remuneration and Benefits:

• Full-Time permanent contract
• Location: Darwin
• Salary: $67,912 – $72,011
• Allowances
• FBT exempt salary packaging benefits pay
• 13% superannuation contribution
• 5 weeks annual leave & 17.5% annual leave loading
