Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

6 Months Minimum Contract

 £38 p/h (Ltd/Umbrella) or £29 p/h (PAYE) per hour

Welwyn Garden City

We have been instructed by one of our key clients to help them find an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a temporary basis.  You will be working for a leading manufacturer based in the Welwyn Garden City. This is a temporary position, however an extension on the first assignment is a real possibility.

What the role will involve:

• Electrical, PLC and Mechanical Maintenance of manufacturing machinery and process equipment
• You will conduct PPM’s / scheduled maintenance  
• Reacting to breakdowns and issues
• Project work looking at long term reliability improvements and efficiency’s
• The type of equipment you will working on includes – silos, pumps, motors, gearboxes, fillers, labelling machines, heat cutters, sealers and conveyors
• If at any time there is a breakdown, this takes priority, and they will work to get the machine back up and running ASAP
• They are looking for someone electrically biased, but the role is a mix of mechanical and electrical maintenance.

What the company are looking for in the contractor:

• Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Open on background, could have previously worked in – Automotive / Aerospace / Chemicals / Process / Food
• Capability to fault find using PLC’s and repair on mechanical systems such as gearboxes / bearings / belts / pulleys / hydraulics / pneumatics
• Fault find and modify PLC’s (Siemens)
• Strip and rebuild the components
• PPM, Scheduled Maintenance experience
• Mechanical qualification – NVQ / HND / HNC
