Aveo Hiring for Finance Manager – Financial Operations Job at Sydney Full Time

An exciting opportunity exists within Aveo Group for a pro-active and energetic Finance Manager – Financial Operations to join our team based in Brisbane or Sydney.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the General Manager Finance – Financial Operations this role will lead and develop the Financial Operations Communities team. This team consists of Senior Management Accountants, Management Accountants, and Assistant Accountants and is responsible for the day-to-day financial management of Aveo’s portfolio of communities and forms part of the broader Financial Operations team. In addition, the role will provide support to the General Manager Finance – Financial Operations, as required and driving continuous improvement of Communities finance processes.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all retirement village budgeting and reporting requirements in accordance with resident agreements and retirement village legislation
• Ensure timely and accurate billing, calculation and receipting of residents and non-resident customers levies and charges
• Provide leadership and direction to the Financial Operations Communities team
• Assist with training and professional growth of staff to develop their full potential consistent with the businesses’ needs
• Ensuring a positive and productive work culture throughout the Financial Operations team.
• Ensuring a work culture that accommodates change, growth mindset and expansion opportunities
• Ensure all reporting requirements are met by the Financial Operations Communities team
• Resolve resident and their authorized representatives’ queries and concerns in relation to village financials in a timely manner
• Keep up to date with retirement village legislative changes
• Subject matter expert for all matters related to village budgeting and reporting requirements
• Standardisation and automation of processes and reporting across the portfolio
• Driving and identifying process improvement initiatives

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in finance roles with a minimum of 6 years’ experience
• Demonstrated superior knowledge of Retirement Villages Legislation & Aged Care Legislation is desirable
• Demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a team through periods of change
• TechOne ERP experience will be advantageous
• Superior communication skills with an ability to adapt messaging for appropriate audiences and influence a wide range of stakeholders
• Professional Accounting qualifications (CPA/CA) (preferred)
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting (essential)
