Seven Resourcing Hiring for MASH Education Officer Job at Hackney, England Full Time

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary MASH Education Officer to work in Hackney. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying from £20.48 – £26.00 per hour (PAYE and umbrella payment options available).

The role:

• Working as part of the multi-agency integrated team assessing safeguarding notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0-18. Searching and collating information from databases and other professionals.
• With due regard to client confidentiality, interpret and share information that is necessary to safeguard and promote the welfare of the child/young person. The post holder will be expected to contribute to a multi agency analysis of risk on a case by case basis.
• Developing effective and trusted relationships with headteachers and designated safeguarding leads in schools and settings; and managers within Hackney Education and Children and Families Services, to develop and improve safeguarding practice.
• Coordinating Hackney Education’s response to a range of safeguarding enquiries relating to individual children, schools and other education settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contacting schools and other education professionals in response to safeguarding referrals in order to gather intelligence as part of the multi-agency risk assessment procedure.
• Record, interpret and present education information and issues that can impact on the risk or needs assessment of the child/young person. This may involve disclosing proportionate and relevant information relating to the parents/carers or siblings.
• Explain clearly, and with sound rationale, highly complex education related safeguarding information to a wide range of professionals.
• Participate in the safeguarding multi agency risk assessments to inform case management decisions; advising where necessary and challenging decisions where appropriate.
• Contributing to professionals, team around the family and strategy meetings in schools. At times leading on meetings involving complex education safeguarding issues.
• Present education safeguarding related information, as required, to wider multi-agency safeguarding panels or groups.

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualifications: Educated to degree level OR evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
• Experience: Experience working in a school or other education setting as a middle or senior leader. Extensive experience of working in schools or other education settings in a safeguarding role, ideally as a designated safeguarding lead or deputy designated safeguarding lead.
• Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
• Hours: 35 hours p/w.
