A world leading ground improvement specialist is now looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join their team.  

Job description, Design Engineer:

The company are looking for someone to oversee and/or interrogate design options by reviewing the drawings, specifications, site investigation, and client requirements. Produce innovative solutions for any issues that arise, and all identified risks are mitigated using the correct company methods and resources. Manage and coordinate the preparation of tender design.

Manage customer contact, present technical proposals to customers and contribute to customer meetings during the tender process. Form relationships with the customer or their representatives to develop clear understanding of their requirements. Provide considered responses to customer questions including post tender queries and ensure effective communication with customers. To maximise our opportunities and to build long term relationships and encourage repeat work.

On key bids oversee and lead the preparation, coordination, and delivery of technical presentations to customers as required, to successfully secure orders. Assist estimators with design at tender and contract stages. Produce optimised detailed design to get approval from Clients and Engineers before start of the works. Ensure design/technical support throughout contract stage. Assist estimators with design at tender and contract stages. You, with the assistance of the Design Team, prepare the design documents (design reports and drawings) for simple projects

What we require, Design Engineer:

For this role we require a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (mechanical, civil, or design engineering). We would also like some experience within the geotechnic field.

We require excellent knowledge of ground engineering processes. We must have someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to advise senior board members and build effective relationships within the team and with partners. Customer centric to take detailed insight into requirements with a creative and strategic approach to complete the projects. Value engineering focused on design, coming from a Civil or Geotechnic Design background, with an understanding of construction sites.
