We’re looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Hosting team in the Technology and Transformation department.

This team is responsible for building and maintaining the end-to-end lifecycle of Suncorp’s Public Cloud platforms and services. They manage all aspects of these platforms including security, risk, evaluating/provisioning new services, cost visibility and optimisation. This team also maintains a large number of software assets (predominately Python & Django) which enables various functions for internal customers.

What you’ll do:

• Accountable for managing, monitoring and improving Suncorp’s Cloud Platforms
• Understanding customer requirements and working with Suncorp teams and vendors to deliver solutions they need on time
• Maintaining and improving all software assets managed by the team
• Use Agile and Lean practices to drive everyday way of working
• Engage and understand customers’ needs to reduce hand offs and improve products and services
• Adhere to Change Management processes and identify opportunities for automation.
• Proactively identify and create proposals for technology improvements
• Participate in the ongoing capacity planning and management of the team’s platform

What you’ll bring:

• Skill and experience in any of the following technologies: AWS, Python, Ansible, CICD, Django, Microsoft Azure, Linux administration
• Commitment to continuous learning and development
• Understanding of, and experience with Agile, Lean and DevOps methodologies
• Good communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
• Strong problem solving skills
• A disciplined approach to planning and organising.
• Completed a Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology.
