Carmichael UK Looking for Senior Project Engineer – Signalling & Comms at Australia Full Time

CarmichaelUK are seeking expressions of interest from senior level candidates with experience in Rail Signaling and Comms for work on major projects in Perth, Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and administer signalling engineering activities including factory pre-wiring and site installation works to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with construction program, plans, designs and specifications• Assist in preparation and support of the signalling testing and commissioning activities
• Overseeing the logistics for Signalling procurement, deliveries and distribution of materials and equipment
• Monitor progress of signalling activities for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manger or Project Manager
• Manage and be accountable for the Signalling Installation Works Package (IWP)
• Manage, executing and improvement of Signalling Installation and Test Plans (ITPs) for quality assurance
• Ensuring all Signalling Work Lots are populated with relevant quality related evidence including associated ITPs
• Understand the technical signalling matters associated with the Project works and ensure they are compliant with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards and risk Management process.
• Assist with the preparation of signalling budgets and reports
• Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality
• Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes

Key Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5-10 years’ engineering experience
• Project Engineering and Signalling Construction experience
• Knowledge of signalling plans, circuit books and other associated signalling designs
• Knowledge of signalling civil works including Combined Services Route and equipment foundation construction
• Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
• Understanding of the Project Design Management Plan, Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan
