Position Summary
Based in Dumbarton, the position is for a new or recent (within the last 4 years) Graduate. The successful applicant will gain experience in a wide range of technologies including web development, database design, maintenance and configuration, telephony systems and their development and project management.
Role Description – Key Purpose
The Graduate will form part of a dynamic and growing software development team and play a key roll in the ongoing development and maintenance of the software products. The Graduate will be able to progress at their own pace with the support of the rest of the team. Major ongoing projects that the successful applicant will be involved in include the redevelopment of the flagship product to a modern web front end, development of client required ad hoc work and the relaunch of our flagship telephony solution.
Objectives
· To skill up and gain detailed knowledge of the software products developed and maintained by Opos/DDI.
· To skill up on latest web development environments and technologies.
· To enhance the user experience by developing modern web front ends for our solutions.
· To project manage and deliver our clients’ software requirements.
· To assist in the ongoing database design, configuration and maintenance of the database element of our software solutions.
· To help deliver innovation proactively through enhancing current solutions and developing new ones.
Outcomes
The Graduate will become a member of Opos’s growing software development team and will have a detailed knowledge of the products we maintain and develop. This role will see the Graduate exposed to several technologies giving them a broad skillset with a core focus on software development.
Qualifications
HND, Undergraduate Degree, Postgraduate Degree, Master’s Degree in relevant IT Discipline.
Essential Skills and Experience
· Knowledge of programming/software development.
· Knowledge of database structures.
· Windows Operating Systems.
· Ability to plan projects and meet target dates.
· Project Management experience.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work autonomously or in a team.
Desirable Skills and Experience
· Knowledge of Asterisk open source PBX.
· IT Security.
· Knowledge of Linux based Operating Systems.
· Knowledge of Progress Openedge databases.
· Programming experience in:
o Progress Openedge
o Angular 2
o Bootstrap
o Javascript
o jQuery
o HTML5

Salary: From £18,500.00 per year
Remuneration: £18,500 and may increase in the first 6 months up to £21,000 depending on progression
