Your Opportunity:

As a member of the Software Testing team, you will play a key role in helping to maintain the quality of the solutions that we deliver to our customers by performing ad-hoc and structured testing, creating and executing test plans, authoring new tests and recording test results and identifying and recording defects.

Who You Are:

Functional Competencies:

• Taking responsibility for the testing of Traka products, ensuring problem solving and resolution actions are implemented effectively.
• Analysing user stories and defining test cases to ensure full test coverage and stay aligned to the automation team.
• Reviewing project specifications, working with the team to understand requirements, design, implementation, acceptance criteria, user stories and estimating stories as part of our Agile way of working.
• Executing tests and validating test results as defined in the test procedures.
• Identifying, analysing, and documenting any defects discovered during testing.
• Duties may also include developing software test tools, automated test scripts, performing load tests or simulations.
• Working with Software Operations / Training and Documentation teams to handover knowledge.
• Ensure that opportunities to improve process efficiency are identified and communicated.
• Good communicator and ability to liaise and inform relevant departments and stakeholders as required.

Essential skills:

• 3+ years practical experience in product/software testing and quality assurance engineering.
• Knowledge of the software development and software testing lifecycles.
• Experience with testing browser and desktop-based applications.
• Hands on experience of test automation development (e.g., TestComplete, Selenium, Katalon Studio).
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI/ReadyAPI or similar software.
• Working in an Agile software development environment (Scrum).
• Proven experience using SQL and writing SQL queries.
• Experience with test case management systems, such as Zephyr, HP Quality Centre, etc.
• Experience with the Jira issue management system.
• Installing and configuring virtual environments, such as Nutanix, Hyper-V, VMware etc.
• Administrative experience with Windows based Operating Systems (client / server) including IP networks & networking fundamentals.

Desirable skills:

• Experience of testing physical products and their interaction with software applications.
• Experience with a range of testing tools (e.g., SmartBear, SoapUI, Test Cafe, Robot).
• Experience of distributed software architectures.
• Experience of, or a willingness to learn architecture of applications written in C#.
• Used to working in an environment where you can test against code using various source control solutions (Git, GitKraken, Visual Studio etc)
• Experience of writing code (ideally in C#).
• Experience of writing BDD scenarios against user stories in Gherkin syntax.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS etc
• ISEB, ISTQB, or other relevant qualifications/experience.
