Pillars Career Academy Hiring for Dean of Students at Forest Park, GA Full Time

We are looking for a committed Dean of Students to complement our qualified workforce of educators. Reporting to the Assistant Principal you will be responsible fo for monitoring and enhancing the quality of student academic life including student behavior. The Dean of Students helps to foster a positive, engaging and caring atmosphere, and a healthy 7PCA community by providing programming and leadership opportunities that enable students to flourish. The Dean of Students proactively and effectively communicates with parents. The Dean of Students works closely with the school counselors, nurses, Director of Academic Services, and Team Leaders in providing programming and restorative practices that embrace and teach the 7 Pillars of our community. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ongoing student programming that is both fun and builds community.
• Communicate effectively and proactively with parents regarding upcoming student programming and events
• Manage application process and oversee student-created clubs

• Proven experience as a teacher

• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures

• Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills

• Very strong technical knowledge to use relevant technology to support instruction

• Great knowledge of current events, geography and history

• Well-organized and committed

• Creative, flexible, and energetic

• Strong moral values and discipline

• Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate in education is a plus
• Participation in school enrollment campaign.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
