Best Companies have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Manager to join the team based in Llay, Wrexham. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £48,000 – £60,000 per annum plus benefits.

Our offices are located between Chester and Wrexham and is easily commutable (by car) from the Wirral, North Wales and Cheshire.

The Role

As the development manager the successful candidate will work closely with the Product Manager to map out the future vision of the product, offering guidance on technologies, solution architecture and technical feasibility of business requirements.

To do this you must be comfortable investigating and suggesting new technologies, coordinating feasibility studies, building prototypes and understanding the implications of the technology choices on our existing product suite.

As the development manager you will be responsible for the man-management of the development team, providing direction, monitoring performance and conducting reviews. You will be a technical lead and mentor for the team and will ultimately be responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of software that meets the business requirements and goals.

You must have a positive attitude, be passionate about development and take pride in what their team produces. You will need to be calm under pressure and comfortable working to tight deadlines. Excellent communications skills (technical and non-technical) are essential.

• At least 4 years’ experience developing applications using the.NET Framework

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the principal developer for producing high-quality solutions
• Manage a team of developers through projects from design to delivery
• Take responsibility for project delivery and resolve issues that arise in a timely manner to allow the team to meet deadlines
• Manage development priorities within a project to ensure timely delivery and adequate support cover
• Investigate and manage implementation of future technologies
• Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration
• Maintain and share the product vision and direction with the development team
• Ensure that features are designed and delivered to the highest standards
• Improve the technical competence of the development team
