CPR Looking for Structural Design Engineer at Hemel Hempstead Full Time

We are working with a multidisciplinary consultancy who are searching for a Structural Design Engineer for their Hertfordshire / Hemel Hempstead office to join their team on a full time basis. This would suit someone with 2-5 years of experience (roughly), who may be looking for a dynamic position with varying daily responsibilities. 

You will be working with around 30 other staff members to produce innovative structural designs for a range of building structures projects. Typically, you will work on commercial, energy, residential, refurbishment/heritage and industrial sites.

With a strong structural design team, you will have the support of more experienced structural engineering staff, as well as having personal responsibilities to mentor and develop junior colleagues, which often leads to self-improvement, critical thinking and career progression.

Job Description:

–          Work on a range of private development and local authority building structures projects

–          Produce structural engineering designs in steel, concrete, RC, masonry and timber (training will be provided if you have not used specific materials).

–          Liaise with stakeholders such as project teams, clients, local authorities and statutory undertakers

–          Prepare technical details and specifications for the architectural team

–          Liaise and attend meetings with architects and other teams

–          Assess, monitor, and improve the sustainability and environmental impacts of projects

–          Ensure projects comply with statutory requirements and CDM / Health & Safety regulations

Candidate Specification:

–          BEng in a Civil Engineering subject or equivalent

–          Have design experience in two or more materials

–          Understanding of building codes such as BS or EuroCodes

–          Understanding of soil mechanics and foundations

–          Ability to attend supervised meetings

–          Ideally a variety of software, but strong expertise with one of the following is also sought after: REVIT, Tekla, TEDDS, SAP2000, Graitec, STAAD Pro or others

–          Strong communication and liaison skills

This is a permanent position for a developing Structural Design Engineer to join a leading consultancy in their medium sized structural engineering team from the Hemel Hempstead office on a full time basis.

With a hybrid working week available (up to 2 days a week in the office), this could suit candidates coming from the Luton/Bedford, North London, Watford or other regions.
