IT Governance Hiring for Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Job at Remote Full Time

Vigilant Software is searching for a talented software QA engineer to join its development team to ensure that software functions as intended and meets users’ needs. The role would be perfect for someone who can create test plans to guide the team’s continuing improvement.

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out structured, methodical testing of internally developed software to ensure it is bug free and fit for purpose.
• Helping to define the development process to incorporate QA activities.
• Establishing and maintaining repeatable software test plans.
• Using creative, exploratory testing to simulate unplanned user behaviour to uncover unexpected bugs.
• Recreating reported user behaviour to determine the steps necessary to replicate issues.
• Working with developers to ensure complete test coverage; and
• Planning and executing testing considering available resources using a risk-based approach.

You will need:

• Demonstrable experience of structured software testing and writing and maintaining test plans.
• Experience with carrying out QA activities throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

It would be good to have:

• Experience querying relational databases using SQL.
• Experience with web-automation test tools such as Selenium.
• Experience using Jira for issue and project tracking; and
• Experience with Zephyr Squad – test management for Jira.

Remuneration: Up to £45,000 p.a.
Basis: Full time, permanent
Location: Home based, within the UK
