The opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced financial modeler to join our Group Corporate Finance team. The role will be based in our Australian corporate head office in Richmond and will report to the General Manager – Corporate Finance, M&A and Treasury.

Working with the broader group finance team you will leverage your excellent financial modelling skills, designing, building, reviewing and augmenting 3-way integrated forecast, operating and transaction models.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Day to day management and ownership of the Consolidated Group Corporate model
• Consolidation of Group balance sheet, cashflow and P&L used for valuation, strategy and refinancing purposes
• Consolidation and compilation of Group Budget pack and Group strategy packs
• Scenario planning,and sensitivity and “what-if” modelling to support senior management/Board decision making
• Support for yearly impairment testing
• Support for assessment of WACC rates
• Drafting financial presentations for key stakeholders including external investors, Board, shareholders and/senior management
• Transaction support for refinancing and potential acquisitions
• Provide support for economic and market research
• Ad-hoc queries or financial investigation of data
• Assist with systemising Excel based forecasting into a financial system

Your background

Ideally, you have worked in a similar analytical function in a large corporate, and are looking for a new challenge in a large, rapidly growing, Australasian business. You are a proactive self-starter, with robust modelling skills, a curious mind and strong attention to detail. You enjoy working with people and are a problem solver. This is a hands-on role, suitable for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment. This is a Trans-Tasman group role, so travel may be required from time to time.

To be successful, we require you to have the following:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant degree
• CA/CPA/CFA qualified (or near complete)
• Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and a solutions focus
• Proven financial modelling skill set with experience in understanding and building complex models, analysing and questioning data, investigating data issues, accounting, and financial presentation
• Robust knowledge of modelling concepts and expertise in 3 way financial statements modelling
