The Role

As a Dev and Design Team Lead, you play an integral role in the business, leading and mentoring our team of Designers, while working closely with our values clients on a day to day basis, using your analytical problem solving skills to cater solutions to their needs

Key Responsibilities include…

Engaging with clients and managing communication between the clients and the team when/where required

Creating tickets and expectations for projects and tasks according to the standard set by the company

Providing weekly reports on project status(es) to manager

Reviewing timelines and holding team accountable for deadlines and project deliverables

Communicating concerns and roadblocks up the chain

Providing technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship

Maintaining high standards of quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits

Identifying and encouraging areas for growth and improvement within the team

Collaborating with other software developers, designers, business analysts, and clients, to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain business applications

Assisting in the collection and documentation of requirements, project scopes, work plans, proposals, and quotes

Reviewing, identifying, and creating processes and procedures for the department

Preparing reports, guides, and other documentation on the status, design, operation, and maintenance of software

Designing, developing, and testing applications in accordance with established standards

Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code

Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems

Assessing opportunities for application and process improvement and creating documentation and/or new policy accordingly

Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget

Tracking and vetting developers’ and designers’ hours and expenses

Reviewing code with the development team for quality control and troubleshooting

Reviewing designs with the design team for quality control and guidance

Leading regular team meetings and one-on-ones with development and design staff

Qualifications:
Post Secondary education in Information Technology or Software Development

2+ years of experience as a direct or indirect People Leader in a software related industry

3+ years of experience within Software Development as a Software Engineer or Operations Engineer

Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments

Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
