The Humanitarian and Stabilisation Operations Team (HSOT), contracted by Palladium International Ltd, provides the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCDO) with humanitarian & conflict support.
HSOT works with FCDO to lead the UK Government’s response to humanitarian disasters in co-operation with the United Nations, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, non-governmental organisations and governments of disaster-affected countries.
The primary purpose of this role is to lead on learning & development, whilst also providing HR Generalist support in areas such as employee engagement, health & wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, employee relations & performance management. As part of a small HR team, the role at times will be required to support talent acquisition and HR administration duties, including holiday cover and other team absences
Key Responsibilities
Managing a Learning Management System and developing its capabilities.
Management of mandatory training compliance.
Providing training needs analysis to identify training gaps, and filling those through internal & external mechanisms.
Managing budgets and procuring training through selection and management of external providers.
Facilitating and coaching of others to deliver internal training.
Managing feedback mechanisms by analysing & interpreting data, turning this into metrics.
Creating & facilitating events, with a hybrid mix of virtual and in person.
Connecting learning & development to other HR specialisms such as employee engagement, health & wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, and performance management.
Working with the HR Manager and HR Administrator to provide the full range of generalist HR support to HSOT.
HR generalist project work including the development and improvement of HR systems and processes.
Key Requirements
Experience of learning & development, particularly in relation to managing a learning management system, training needs analysis, procuring training, managing budgets and feedback mechanisms.
Experience in dealing with multiple & different stakeholders, such as internal staff, clients & external providers.
The ability to work with multiple different systems and processes, and at times, working with complex data.
An interest in developing in other HR generalist specialisms such as employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, health & wellbeing, performance management & employee relations.
Demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy.
Organisational skills: planning, managing information, controlling timelines and meeting deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and proven experience of building strong working relationships.
Proven ability to deal with a varied, demanding, often conflicting and rapidly changing workload.
