Our Finance team area paramount to the success of our business and were searching for the best candidates out there to work with us in our Birmingham office.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
SAFETY & WELFARE
- Top of your agenda always; practice an unrelenting approach to safety and welfare by adherence to any and all safety policies and processes in our organisation.
- Develop an understanding within your respective area for all statutory and legal accountabilities we hold; specifically, our obligations surrounding Data Protection and Advertising Standards.
- Create an environment whereby all team members feel confident and comfortable in raising any concerns about our workplaces, properties, systems and/or our practices.
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION, REPORTING & ANALYSIS
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and business plans
- Assist in the preparation of periodic forecasts, for both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in the timely and accurate production of our monthly & quarterly performance reports
- Provide management reports and analysis to help drive the performance of the business
WORKING WITH OTHERS
- Assist in the communication of detailed management accounts information to all relevant people including Property Managers and Regional Operating Managers to help review and understand financial performance.
- Assist in preparing reports and data – including for property reviews, board meetings, other external agencies and ad hoc as required.
- Involvement in Finance systems development across the Group, including user acceptance testing.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and be involved in Finance projects as required.
SYSTEMS
- Become an expert on our financial reporting systems (Sage, Cognos)
- Provide regular data integrity checks between our core financial systems to ensure completeness
- Have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
PERSON SPECIFICATION
WHAT YOUVE DONE BEFORE
- You are ideally working towards a recognised accounting qualification e.g. AAT, CIMA, ACCA preferred or equivalent
- You will ideally have at least 1 years Finance experience within a large commercial business
- Youre a highly skilled user of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft software

WHAT WILL IT TAKE?
Physical Effort
- Youll be desk-based either working remotely or in our office in Birmingham, working in front of a screen for much of that time. In line with the DSE assessment, we encourage time away from your workstation, fresh air throughout the day and a good balance between systems and human beings!
Mental Effort
- This is a role of competing priorities and as a seasonal operation, there are times of year when workloads may spike or unplanned incidents will take over. The role requires someone highly organised, but someone who is calm and pragmatic in their response to changes.
- Despite solid planning, short-notice work may be required of you.
- Unpredictable pattern of activity, no two days are the same and this role would be more suited to someone who can operate effectively in a highly-varied environment.
