What You’ll Do: *

• Software requirements elaboration: Participating in requirements elaboration with the product team to understand and isolate the scope of the features being built
• Test planning and strategy: Documenting, developing and executing test plans, strategies, and test cases based on requirements and discussions with engineering
• Test automation: Writing and maintaining automated test suites for front-end and back-end components
• Continuous integration and deployment: Coordinating with Dev Ops resources to test product releases during staging and production deployments
• Troubleshooting: Identifying, debugging and documenting clear reproduction steps for complex issues that arise in the software development lifecycle
• Test refactoring and best practices: Advocating for a healthy test suite, proactively fine-tuning tests as the software evolves over time

What You Bring:

• Writing API and UI automated tests
• Git or Bitbucket version control management tools
• Black box and white box approaches for smoke, regression, functional, user acceptance and exploratory testing
• Creating test plans for features according to product requirements
• SDLC and quality assurance processes and methodologies
• Agile team environments
• JIRA or other bug tracking tools
• You have 1+ years of experience as a QA engineer or 8+ months of co-op as a new graduate, testing code written for:
• ReactJS or equivalent front-end JavaScript frameworks
• Redux or equivalent front-end state management frameworks
• Node.js and Express back-end frameworks
• REST or GraphQL based APIs
• SQL and NoSQL databases

• You have a knack for identifying the right types of tests to write, testing only what is required to verify the business behavior of the platform.
• You proactively seek out work to accomplish sprint goals by picking up unassigned tasks or assisting other team members on their outstanding tasks.
• You take pride in the quality of the test cases you are contributing to the code base.
• You’re looking for a fast-paced development environment.
• You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator.
• You love diagraming and explaining complex problems and solutions to your peers.
• You aren’t afraid of change and speak up when you have concerns.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• High level of comfort developing in a Mac OS X environment
• Knowledge of test automation best practices

• Experience testing Cloud-based infrastructures such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

• Experience with performance testing and scaling applications
• Experience with event driven architecture
• Experience with testing micro services
