Goodwill Dallas is seeking a Chief Financial Officer due to retirement. Goodwill presents a unique opportunity to join not only a well‐established charitable organization with an enduring mission centered around jobs, but one that is poised for substantial growth in the scope of its operations and the number of individuals it serves in the community. The growth will be fueled by expanding the number of thrift stores and donation centers in its territory and by offering additional services in its workforce development programs. The growth plans will be aided through investments in technology to streamline the processing, recording and monitoring of the organization’s activities.
Goodwill Dallas is financially strong in its own right with positive cash flow from its thrift operations and substantial reserves. Goodwill is also supported by Goodwill Industries of Dallas Foundation, Inc. (“the Foundation”) which has as its sole purpose to support the operations of Goodwill. The CFO is responsible for the financial aspects of both entities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Goodwill Dallas CFO position requires the willingness to be hands‐on as well as the ability to understand the big picture and set appropriate priorities for the finance and technology areas of the organization. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
· Maintain a proper internal control environment through policies, procedures, segregation of duties and supervision.
· Oversee and maintain general ledgers for Goodwill and the Foundation to allow for regular financial reporting
· Internal functions reporting this position:
o Information technology
o Payroll
o Accounts Payable
o Accounts Receivable and Billing
o Fixed Assets, Right‐to‐use Assets and the related Lease Obligations o Procurement
o Cash Management
· Third party services managed or monitored by the CFO include:
o Investment management – monitor asset allocation and investment performance
o Risk management – select insurance coverage based on options presented by a third
party broker and maintain risk management matrix in accordance with company policy.
o Real estate – serve as the primary contact for a third party real estate brokerage firm engaged to identify potential new locations and to dispose of selected existing locations.
· Banking relationships.
· Tax and regulatory filings and compliance include the following: o Sales tax filing and payment
o Form 990 for Goodwill and the Foundation
· The CFO leads the financial aspect of planning for the future of the organization.

Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree, majoring in accounting or business required. An advanced business degree and/or CPA designation is preferred.
· Prior supervisory experience in a similar role is required.
· Experience with commercial real estate transactions is desired.
· This position requires a full background check and a credit check.
