Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

3-month contract/interim

Location: Huddersfield / Halifax / Bradford – West Yorkshire

Rate: £30.00p/h (Limited Co. Outside IR35 or Umbrella)

Shifts: Rotating 6-2/2-10/8-6 (nights over 4) Mon-Fri 37.5hrs p/w

I am recruiting exclusively for a key manufacturing client based in West Yorkshire. They are a leading UK manufacturer to the kitchen and bedroom furniture marketplace. They are looking for Maintenance Engineer/Mechanical Fitter, to assist with general maintenance work covering the whole plant and varied complex machinery.

As Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will require to conduct the following duties:

v  Reactive maintenance with PPM in between, on mechanical machinery, capital equipment, palletisers & cranes, but some basic fault-find and replacement of electrical parts as well

v  Fixing fast paced industrial production machinery including but not limited to gears /motors / conveyors / bearings etc

v  Working safely and make recommendations for improvements

As Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will need to have the following attributes:

v  Good experience with LEAN and Continuous Improvement principles

v  Health and Safety awareness

v  Able to work autonomously, with a ‘right first time’ mentality

v  Experience within general fast paced manufacturing production environments

v  Strong communication and interpersonal skills working alongside production staff and shift supervisors

v  Mechanical engineering apprenticeship time served C&G L3 or qualified to NVQ L3
