Power Technologies Group Oakville Advance Road plant, a leading producer of automotive heat-exchangers has an immediate opening for an Electromechanical Engineer
Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
· Project management; developing new or modifying existing methods to manufacture product;
· Developing new applications for existing equipment, assess and implement new technology/equipment;
· Implementing production methods meeting Quality, Health & Safety, Ergonomic, Environmental and Production Standards;
· Assisting production departments with technology transfer and employee training;
· Overseeing and trouble-shooting production start-ups for product launch;
· Working with suppliers, product engineering, production departments and customers to establish Quality Production methods to support APQP Methodology;
· Preparing and maintaining capacity studies to reflect shifting customer requirements;
· Preparing capital appropriations to include Data Collection, justifications, payback benefits and monitoring of actual expenditures;
· Actively supporting/promoting Preventative Maintenance and Continuous Improvement activity.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Post Secondary University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or College Level Diploma in Engineering Technology;
PLC and/or electronic skills or experience would be a definite asset;
· 3-5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated mechanical ability; supervisory experience or a relevant combination of supervisory training and skills;
· Accomplished “Team Player”; able to communicate effectively at all levels;
· Project Management skills: Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills;
· Good working knowledge of Quality Systems, Environmental Standards and PC applications;
· Experience with APQP, FMEA, Automotive Core Tools, TS16949 would be an asset;
· Strong computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Lotus Notes;
· Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and develop people.
