A day in the life of a …

Head of Finance is responsible for budget preparation, producing monthly management accounts, preparing annual financial statements and detailed treasury management. You will ensure the efficient day to day operation of the College’s accounting systems and support a procure to pay function supported by the Finance Team. In this role you will be supporting tenders and procurement, including capital projects. You will line manage the Finance team and ensure they receive the right development and support.

The College has an ambitious strategy and monitors against key performance measures to track progress and success. The Finance team plays a core role in providing financial data to the Senior Management Team to support decision making as well as being pro-active and flexible to support budget holders across the College.

Skills/experience required:

· Previous Management experience.

· Experience of accountancy within education desirable.

· Experience of leading a Finance team.

· Strong communicator.

· Experience of electronic finance systems.

· Good standard of computer literacy including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Working successfully with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.

Qualifications required:

· Degree qualification.

· Minimum level 4 accountancy qualification.

· Willing to undergo further training and development as required.
