SHINE is immediately seeking an Accounting Manager to plan, coordinate, and work with employees at various levels and functions in the Company to maintain data quality in financial systems, develop effective internal controls and processes, and lead process improvement projects. The Accounting Manager is responsible for timely and accurate recording of transactions to the General Ledger.

The Accounting Manger must have a strong understanding of GAAP, accounting and reporting requirements, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the Accounting Operations and Accounts Payable teams.
• Lead a timely and effective accounting close for month, quarter, and year-end.
• Develop a strong understanding of the Company’s vendor payment and reporting processes.
• Build upon and improve the Company’s financial system capabilities and current control environment.
• Champion the department’s process and procedure documentation.
• Pioneer, lead, and follow in matters related to cross-functional process improvements and projects.
• Lead or support regulatory compliance matters including 1099 preparation and federal, state, and local regulatory filings.
• Support internal and external financial reporting processes.
• Lead or support audits related to risk management, covenant compliance, government grants, external financial, and others as needed.
• Assist with development of accounting policies and technical accounting interpretations for significant business transactions as needed.

Requirements:

• Self-motivated, determined, and confident
• Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting
• CPA, CMA, CIA, or equivalent professional certification
• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience and prior experience managing others
• Experience working for a large or international company
• Experience using ERP systems to drive process efficiencies
• Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
• Understanding of GAAP and audit process/requirements
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet assigned deadlines
• Advanced Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience at either public accounting firms or SEC registrants. “Big 4” experience a plus
• 3+ years managing team(s) and others
• NetSuite experience or ERP superuser in a prior role
• Keen interest in financial systems and strong IT skills
• Understanding of LEAN Accounting, Six Sigma, or similar methods of process improvement
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech, start-up, or similar company
• Life Science or high tech industry knowledge
• Experience with a multi-entity ERP environment
• Experience with complex Excel functionality
