South West Councils needs a high calibre person to meet the demands of a changing and challenging programme of work.
This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your experience by providing advice and consultancy support to a wide variety of different organisations who need our assistance in addressing employment issues. Our work is incredibly varied and amongst other things you will conduct complex and/or potentially politically sensitive investigations, advising at grievance/disciplinary/appeal hearings, conducting pay and grading reviews and delivering employment related training.
Although the office base is in Taunton, Somerset, you will be expected to travel throughout the South West and in doing so will get to enjoy this beautiful part of the country. [NB there is also scope for home-based working].
What skills do you need?
You should have experience of providing employment advice to senior managers and customers, have excellent presentation and negotiating skills, and be capable of working on your own initiative.

We offer a wide range of learning and developmental activities to support our member organisations and partners in developing a highly skilled and motivated workforce. As an approved End-Point Assessment Organisation we deliver assessment on a range of Standards for employers nationally.
The small team of 23 also support information and best practice sharing as well as supporting organisations with all aspects of their employer role.
