JOB OVERVIEW

LEP is seeking dynamic and result-driven self starters currently enrolled in post secondary program to join our team in the role of Student Engineer. LEP’s Operations strategy aims to pursue innovative commercial growth opportunities by providing inspection, engineering, and other services to the low carbon energy industry.

Candidate would be responsible in assisting manager/ supervisor in performing engineering functions:

Collecting data

Maintaining quality and quantity control of contract materials

Monitoring equipment

Support with creation of weekly reports to be discussed in customer project meetings, issue minutes and track actions to completion.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist with preparing technical analysis to support design

Support engineer updates helping to ensure accuracy, quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines

Participate in inter-disciplinary design reviews

Assist with preparing engineering reports

Collaborate with others in the resolution of problems including those of a controversial nature

Act as a leader

Liaise with the operations specialist, and health physicist

Make recommendations on team membership, organize, and assign work responsibility to team members; Give guidance, instruction, and direction

Contribute to matters under discussion; make presentations

Maintain an awareness of engineering profession and advances in engineering design, methods, materials, etc.

Provide engineering services independently for less complex technical problems and recommended course of action

Provide engineering services for more complex problems under the direct guidance of a higher-level engineering personnel

Assist subject matter supervisor in technical service initiatives

Develop and integrate product and process documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy

Provide project reports as required work alongside the site and shift manager on special projects/tasks/deliverables

Other duties as assigned.
