The Medical Education Sr Manager is responsible for leading efforts of design, facilitation and the implementation of education experiences for medical professionals who will enhance surgical outcomes and patient results.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting with the strategic planning of the medical education functions and model.
• Develop and facilitate annual business plans for Medical Education programs, develop surgeon faculty and Zimmer Biomet Biomet meetings and courses.
• Work closely with a diverse group of internal and external individuals including consultant surgeons, Product Managers, AVP’s, and Zimmer Biomet senior management to develop unique programs to train new surgeons through quality, educational programs.
• Communicate frequently and effectively with various stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure that goals and objectives are being fulfilled.
• Provide periodic reports on course development and other Medical Education projects as well as effectiveness of designed materials/courses.
• Work with surgeons/surgeon teams on developing training and education materials/programs.
• Travel to facilitate and execute Medical Education events, evaluate programs and faculty speakers.
• Work with counterparts in EMEA and Asia Pacific to ensure sharing of best practices and consistency of processes.
• Stay current with orthopedic market and competitor’s training and education activities to ensure Zimmer Biomet’s ongoing leadership.
• Ensure compliance with Zimmer Biomet’s business and ethics models for self and group.
• Develop annual Medical Education budget through Medical Education Manager segments.
• Manage budget through appropriate applications and tools – instruct managers on budgetary topics.
• Develop ANA in line with business segment and education needs.

• Sees the potential for novel relationships with key customers and thinks ahead in non-incremental ways to develop superior competitive strategies to support growth and productivity priorities.
• Implements new vehicles for communication in response to technological advancement. Chooses the most effective and efficient formats for forums and uses creativity to enhance presentation and increase.
• Trains and educates medical education functions teams on orthopedic devices and other relevant topics. Evaluates programs and provides feedback to medical education staff regularly.
• Ability to establish assigned programs to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the organization’s efforts in achieving goals.
• Finance and budgeting skills.
• ANA and business model/compliance skills.

Education/Experience Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably including formal studies in education and/or business required.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing others and working directly with customers, technical experts and professional staffs in the medical device industry or healthcare
• MBA or work on an MBA is preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and frequently on short notice.
