BioSafe Systems Hiring for Accounting Assistant Job at East Hartford, CT Full Time

Role/Purpose/Responsibilities:

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our accounting department. The s Accounting Assistant’s responsibilities include maintaining processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes. You will also be assisting the Accounting Manager as needed and respond to information requests by management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Accounts Receivable – delivering weekly report on status of 60 and 90 past due on AR aging and maintaining a high percentage current.
• Proactively contact customers to ensure invoices have been received and are in the process of being paid.
• Receive customer checks, apply to customer accounts, scan into our bank, and prepare deposit for Accounting Manager’s review.
• Process credit card payments.
• Processing Accounts Payable invoices.
• Assist Accounting Manager with bank transactions and bank reconciliations
• Customer on-boarding – follow the policy and criteria for vetting new distributors, etc. and doing reference checks. Ensure proper set up in NetSuite for payment terms and classifications for all customers with terms.
• Process credit memos as needed
• Reconcile Amazon receipts
• Assist in set up or managing customer portals or third parties for processing invoices / payments (EDI, SPS commerce, Vendor central, etc.)
• Invoicing of service projects and invoice of customers based on usage reports
• Manage month end cutoff for fulfillment / invoicing (invoicing all orders no later than 2 business days past month end).
• Report to Accounting Manager
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Compensation/Benefits:

• Annual Pay Rate: $40,000.00 – $45,000.00 based on experience, paid bi-weekly depending on experience.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Associates Degree or equivalent in Accounting.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Intermediate Excel Skills
• NetSuite or similar ERP system experience highly desirable
