POSITION SUMMARY

To maintain and continuously improve quality performance at Sunrise Soya Foods, the Quality Systems Coordinator will work across all departments to revise and improve processes and procedures, conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, and assist in quality improvement initiatives.

JOB DUTIES

Assist in designing and maintaining of processes and systems to gain better consistent quality products & outcome through a scientific approach

Lead with Quality Management and cross functional departments to address quality issues, assist in root cause analysis, complete Non-conforming Reports and support completion of corrective actions to eliminate problem reoccurrence

Work with Production, R&D and subject matter experts to document Standard Operating Processes to ensure critical processes are documented for future training and knowledge sharing

Support the Quality Management program with the Non-Conforming Report (NCR) process as required

Train staff on quality requirements

Support the certification process including acting as a key contributor during External Recertification / Surveillance Audits

QUALIFICATIONS

BSc. in Food Science from an accredited institution, or minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance role in food manufacturing industry

Knowledge and expertise in quality improvement methodologies preferred

ASQ or other credible quality certification as an asset

Working knowledge of project management and quality improvement measurement

Excellent cross-functional interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills

Ability to work with a high degree of discretion and tact in handling confidential matters

Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and balance conflicting priorities

Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems

Willingness and ability to collaborate with other departments in achieving company goals

Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment

Wearing of company provided Uniform and other Personal Protective Equipment is required as applicable

LOCATION

This position will be located at the Company’s 7808 Beedie Way location in Delta, BC or the Company’s Powell office located at 729 Powell Street, Vancouver, BC.
