About the role


The position is responsible for the provision of parking and general enforcement services to the Council. The role ensures City of Parramatta customers and residents comply with the provisions of relevant Acts and Regulations and Councils policies in an equitable and just manner, which will result in improving the quality of assessable parking opportunities and general compliance throughout City of Parramatta.

About the person

The successful candidate should have previous experience:

• In a regulatory/enforcement role
• Adapting to a dynamic work environment with a flexible and positive approach to change, partaking in personal learning and development to adapt to that change.
• Providing excellet customer service; with an ability to deal with customers at all levels in a tactful and courteous manner, including the ability to de-escalate conflict and display and maintain empathy.
• Applying thorough knowledge of relevant legislation including the Local Government Act 1993, Impounding Act 1993, Protection of Environment Operations Act 1997, Companion Animals Act 1998, Road Rules 2014 , Road Transport (General) Regulation 2013.

Qualifications:

• Current driver’s licence

Skills:

• Proven Communication skills both written and verbal including problem solving and decision making
• General level of computer literacy with the ability to effectively use Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook, Pathway and Duncan PDA’s (or applicable software)
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and work with limited direction
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
