General Motors Hiring for Software Developer – Infotainment SCM and CLM Toolchain at Markham, ON Full Time

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in the niche domains of SCM (Software Configuration Management) and CLM (Collaborative Lifecycle Management) in the fast-growing automotive infotainment software field. The successful candidate will initially help GM’s infotainment software team evaluate, select, and implement next generation CLM suite, and later take on the SCM role of integrating software from T1 vendors and Android Open Source Platform (AOSP) into the common GM platform baseline for Infotainment domain. Depending on the candidate, this can be an excellent learning opportunity for a new grad to gain niche skills, an industry veteran to prove their subject matter expertise, or every skills level in between.

Key Responsibilities

CLM

Provide technical support on CLM tools (RTC/RQM/DNG/GC). Work with global development/program teams to configure and enhance the tool set.

Implement and maintain applications based on tool set in Java/Python.

Implement and maintain Power BI report to provide timely, accurate and insightful information to enable status tracking and decision making.

Participate in next generation tools assessment, including Code Beamer, JAMA, Jira, etc.

SCM

Integrate Android and Tier-1 vendors supplied software into the common platform baseline

Develop scripts for automating SCM tasks

Drive platform configurability to keep software platform common

Help with monitoring Jenkins builds

Setup new branches and new build lines as needed

Take part in source code synchronization between vendor sites and GM

Participate SCM innovation projects

Support other Infotainment engineers in the process of developing vehicle software

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields

1+ years of software development experience in C/C++/Java, Perl/Python/Shell or similar programming and scripting languages

Understanding of Linux based systems

Knowledge of database operations, data structure, SQL or similar languages

Good communication and negotiation skills

Ideal candidate would have in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following:

Software development experience in automotive, telematics, navigation, or mobile device industries

Android software development and build system knowledge

Experience in integration software for complex systems

Hands-on experience in IBM CLM suite configuration

In-depth understanding of SAFe framework, preferably with certifications
