Fawkes & Reece South Looking for Site Engineer at Plymouth, Devon Full Time

A major contractor are recruiting Site Engineers for the major work commencing at Devonport Dockyard in the New Year. The role is with a main contractor who will be delivering phased work in the port for at least 5 years’ upgrading the existing naval facilities. The role is with the main contractor who have an outstanding reputation in the South West and longevity in Devon working with public and private sector clients.

The Site Engineer will be based on a long term major infrastructure project compromising of installing a cofferdam for quayside marine work, new services, building works and associated civils.

Ideally as a Site Engineer you will have at least 6 months engineering and setting out experience with a minimum of a HNC/HND in Engineering. The business also has outstanding training to progress you through your career and into management, as well as mentoring you through ICE chartership.

Site Engineer duties include:

• Setting out piling works, earthworks and services with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
• Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client’s and business’s requirement
• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
