Our Strategy and Finance InfraCo team

As a finance professional supporting our InfraCo business means you’ll be a part of creating Australia’s most valuable telco infrastructure business.

Our team is focussed on leveraging Telstra’s assets, growing our Wholesale and nbn co revenue streams in order to position InfraCo as a strong, viable business in the market.

Role Purpose:

This role will drive the InfraCo Fixed financial control function to support the business deliver its objectives across many areas of the finance value chain. The InfraCo Fixed business is a significant part of the InfraCo segment of Telstra, generating c. $2.3bn revenue and c. $1.5bn of EBITDAaL, and utilising c. $0.3bn in annual capex covering growth and maintenance initiatives. The business is comprised of the following key component sub businesses, each of which have different economics and market characteristics:

• FibreCo
• DuctCo
• DataCentreCo
• Fixed Network Sites
• Operations

The finance team that supports this part of the business will evolve over time, depending on the stages of development the business is at, and Telstra’s strategic intent on the future ownership structure. This role will be a critical role in this transitional journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate as the financial controller for the business, taking ownership for the balance sheet and owning relationships with key corporate functions (corporate accounting, tax, Treasury etc). Ensure financial controls for the business are in place and operating effectively.
• 
  Ownership of statutory reporting requirements – Annual report and audit
• 
  Ownership of the end to end control environment of the business, including systems and process, including from outsourced functions.
• Execution of the corporate restructure from an InfraCo Fixed perspective, taking the lead through this lens at the group program level.
• Ensuring accounting standards compliance at a legal entity level
• Legal entity cash-flow and statutory profit forecasts, in conjunction with the business partnering team
• Support the InfraCo Fixed 2.0 program where required
• 
  Setting the direction for the mission team with the InfraCo CFO, through defining clear objectives and key results are translated into activities, managed through the Agile methodology.
• Support the InfraCo CFO in setting the business up in a way that allows flexibility to monetise, including working through the different stages of the finance operating model requirements.

About you

• You will be an experienced senior finance professional with a broad experience across multiple finance function disciplines and financial control activities.
• The role will require a commercial financial outlook, with the ability to influence the way business is done to drive the right financial outcomes, able to connect this to accounting and other technical concepts.
• The person should be a strong communicator at all levels of the organisation, and a leader who is able to work seamlessly with people across multiple functions, and different experience levels, to drive the right outcomes.
• The role will require a strong track record of working with business executives, influencing business performance outcomes.
• An experienced leader of work, who is able to coach and develop people on the job.

An accounting qualification is a requirement, and a demonstration of strong technical accounting, tax, process and systems experience.
