The Accounting Assistant will keep financial records, prepare reports, update financial information, and provide administrative support to the Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Assistant must be familiar with accounting procedures and should have experience with accounting software programs. The ideal candidate will be able to process business transactions and handle accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, receipts, and other financial matters. This position requires extreme confidentiality and comfort in handling sensitive information. It also requires the Accounting Assistant to be physically present in the office.
Responsibilities
· Enter transactions into accounting database
· Record customer checks and ACH
· Prepare bank deposits
· Process billing adjustments and refunds
· Conduct phone calls and emails with customers as needed
· Process vendor payments via ACH and check
· Support ad-hoc projects and tasks at needed
Qualifications
· Previous work experience as a bookkeeper or accounting assistant
· Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures and accounting best practices
· Strong math and Microsoft Excel skills
· Experience with accounting software
· Organizational skills
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
· Accurate and precise attention to detail
· Associate degree or certificate in Accounting
· Team player who enjoys a fast-paced, fun environment!
