The post holder will receive, understand, investigate, and process information, enquiries and financial information and issues from NHIS staff members and its customers in accordance with policies, procedures, and information governance best practice. The post holder will provide support primarily to the NHIS and the Finance Manager but will also support the Head of Digital Strategy & Planning as required.
The post holder will utilise and update a range of IT applications such Integra, databases and systems and will be required to manipulate extracted data into meaningful reports and understand and explain the context and content of their reports.
The post holder will record, evaluate and process financial enquiries from internal staff members and external customers and provide assistance and advice as required.
The post holder will procure, physically handle, and facilitate the onward deployment of expensive ICT equipment in accordance with Trust’s financial and safe working practice policies.
The post holder must have and maintain a detailed understanding of accounting procedures, including reconciliations, financial computer systems and ledgers, coding structures, VAT payments etc.
This post requires adaptability to a range of non-routine practices and requires the post holder to have knowledge of all relevant financial processes, plus knowledge of how to deal with non-routine activities such as work allocations, problem solving, answering queries and progress chasing.
The post holder will analyse, investigate and resolve financial queries and discrepancies ensuring that routine tasks required to maintain the ledger are completed in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy.
The post holder will have problem solving skills, and the ability to respond positively to sudden, unexpected demands.
The post holder will ensure that routine budgetary meetings with budget holders occur and pro-actively manage and record all correspondence and take follow-up actions from meetings, which will include handling confidential and sensitive issues.
The post holder will continually adapt to the changing nature of the ICT requirements, the products and solutions available, and evaluate their systems of work accordingly to ensure maximum efficiency and delivery of the team’s goals and objectives.
The post holder must have excellent time management skills and the ability to re-prioritise.
NVQ Level 4/ AAT Technician level or equivalent experience

The post holder will support the Finance Section in the production of NHIS Income & Expenditure Accounts
The post holder plans their own workload, ensuring that weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial timetables are met.
The post holder will have the skills to ensure that month end budget reconciliation occurs to timetable on a monthly basis.
