Finance Manager

Who We Are Looking For:

The Finance Manager leads the accounting team in all aspects of the reporting cycle from transacting, through to monthly reporting and preparing budgets and forecasts. The role spans management and financial accounting for AGCO Australia Limited and the relevant subsidiaries, ensuring the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial information. Working with the finance team and across the business, this role has key stakeholders internally within the region as well as more widely across the globe. In addition, external stakeholders include auditors and tax advisors.

What You Will Do:

• Lead and manage the accounting team to support the business and deliver on all internal and external reporting requirements.
• Ensure accounting records are timely and accurately prepared in accordance with Company Policies and Accounting Standards.
• Put together an annual timetable and various checklists for finance team to follow as the basis for the annual plan for the team to meet scheduled local and Group reporting deadlines using the Group reporting system.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets and forecasts within the timetable for the ANZ and Far East businesses, covering volumes, pricing forecasts/CoS, cost centre, inventory and capital expenditure
• Lead the preparation of Latest Looks and Roll forward analysis.
• Ensure the timely, accurate preparation and analysis of the local Management Accounts for the ANZ and Far East businesses. To monitor and analyse Wholegoods, Parts and Grain & Protein gross profit margins. Follow up any queries not resolved as part of the monthly process.
• Coordinate the preparation of internal monthly management reports including presentations for key management meetings and stakeholder engagement, ensuring these are supported with accurate commentary analysis of results.
• Year-end accounts preparation and consolidation for Group reporting purposes through to Statutory Accounts, including the management of external audit.
• Liaise with the Pricing and Profitability Manager to access Sales and Gross Profit information for uploading the Group reporting system – Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
• Liaise with the Tax Adviser to prepare Income Tax Returns across all entities. Lead and coordinate the compilation of FBT Returns and authorise monthly GST returns. Liaise with Tax Advisor in relation to Transfer Pricing aspects including provision of information in support of the annual return. Work with wider Group Tax team on tax related aspects, providing timely and accurate monthly reconciliations and query management.
• Ensure integrity is maintained with the financial accounting systems and the BI tool.
• Ensure internal controls are being adhered to, including but not limited to General ledger/balance sheet reconciliations, approvals for journals, segregation of duties within team.
• Co-ordinate and manage the Accounts Payable function with regard to accuracy and timeliness of payments.
• Ensure all Department Managers receive their monthly Expense Reports and assist with all queries.
• Co-ordinate and maintain the fixed assets register for book and tax.
• Co-ordinate the Department Expense reporting for all payroll expenses
• To assist Director Finance in other projects as required.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvements both within the team and across the business.
• Other tasks to support the delivery of the finance and business activities

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• CPA/CA Qualification
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a commercial finance role, preferably in a large multi-national corporate
• Experience in team leadership
• Experience in management and financial accounting through to statutory accounts
• Detailed understanding of accounting standards and exposure to US GAAP is ideal
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, both internally and externally
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the company and be able to explain complex issues clearly

A Plus If You Have:

Moderate/reasonable problem solving skills – Requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitive information in complicated or novel situations. Multiple sources of information refer to a diverse range of internal and external sources such as procedures and practices in other areas, team, companies etc. The ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate potentially complex and dynamic material.
