Intel Hiring for Software Video Compression Research and Development Intern at Vancouver, BC Full Time

Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Network and Edge Group (NEX), as a Software Video Compression Research and Development Intern. Join the NEX Video Infrastructure Division at the Marine Gateway site in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. Our team is leading the innovation of SW video compression algorithms at Intel, targeting Intel® Xeon® CPUs and Data Center platforms.

Internship assignment will include but are not limited to:
Conducting evaluation tests of existing encoder features.

Performing comparative analysis of the encoder against other encoders.

Assisting in performing experiments on encoder features being developed, analyze and debug performance issues in the encoder.

Producing comprehensive test case reports.

Developing automated tests as well as collecting data and analyzing results.

The length of this internship is 8 months.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines.

3+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in any of the following areas:

C programming language

Python multipurpose programming language

One or more version control tools such as SVN, Git

Command line applications in both Windows and Linux

Batch and Bash commands

Preferred Qualifications:
3+ months of experience or equivalent coursework using FFmpeg and any video rendering software solutions

3+ months of experience in video compression processing workflows

3+ months of experience in Edge computing and networking technologies

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:

$52,000.00-$147,000.00 (Hourly Role)
