Role Summary

The Financial Accountant is responsible for assisting in all aspects of Financial Accounting for the Lotteries & Keno divisions. Specifically, it aims to ensure that trial balances, reconciliations and financial reports are prepared in an accurate and efficient manner within set timeframes.

What youll do

• Deliver accurate and timely reporting to internal and external customers/ stakeholders
• Complete monthly accounting and reporting process as required including balance sheet reconciliations
• Accurate recording and timely payment of relevant taxes and/or fees
• Support the business unit finance teams with analysis and review of actual to budget/ forecast results.
• Assist Finance Manager with mentoring team members
• Process month end Journal Entries for Lotteries & Keno business units
• Maintain adequate internal controls to ensure the integrity of the General Ledger and associated processes
• Prepare Profit and loss and balance sheet support schedules for the half year and year end Business Unit Reporting Packs
• Identify, recommend and manage business process improvement for the financial accounting team
• Monthly analysis to determine accuracy of automated FMS files
• Complete testing with Technology area for any new release in the automated FMS system
• Additional responsibilities due to pending demerger TBD

Please note this is a 12 month contract role and a great opportunity to further your skills and experience within Tabcorp.

What youll bring

• CA or CPA qualification
• Minimum 3-4 years experience in a similar role
• Experience with large ERP systems, specifically Oracle Financials, would be advantageous
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite with demonstrated intermediate skills in Excel
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to work autonomously
• Exceptional partnering skills and a collaborative, team focused approach
• Youll be fastidious for detail and a strategic thinker. Youll also be a great communicator and know when to put people first.
