We are seeking a bright, self-starting, energetic accounting professional with strong communication, organizational, technology, and leadership skills. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for the financial activities of the company including budgeting, planning and forecasting, financial reporting, and establishing a strong system of internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a passion for process, efficiency, and excellence. The candidate will also need to possess strong problem-solving skills, an exceptional work ethic, and the ability to work well with others at all levels of the company.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the full range of accounting functions of the company, ensuring efficient and consistent processes, in compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies and procedures
• Prepare timely and comprehensive reporting and analyses of historical/forecasted financial data (including revenue, expense, profitability, and other industry specific financial metrics)
• Communicate the results of business activities, plans for and progress towards meeting financial goals/objectives
• Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinating activities with outside audit and accounting firms
• Assist the CFO and CEO in the preparation of annual operating budgets
• Supervise any accounting department employees including providing guidance, training for development and potential advancement, and evaluation of work performance
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation and regularly interact with business owners and senior level management on accounting matters

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in optimizing accounting and finance processes
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and communicate complex financial concepts to all levels of the organization
• Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
• Advanced Excel skills, and proficiency using all other Microsoft Office products

Experience

• 7+ years progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance operations
• Must be a CPA or an active CPA candidate
• 3+ years’ experience in public accounting a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
