Horan Building Co Hiring for Controller Job at Newport, RI Full Time

We are a busy, high-end, residential construction company looking for an experienced Controller/Office Manager with QuickBooks, Sage, and/or similar software experience. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines, and a working knowledge of GAAP. Experience in construction field or similar trade a plus. Competitive pay and full benefits package.

Primary Responsibilities

• Processes weekly payroll for employees
• Verifies, coordinates and post payables to our QuickBooks/Sage software
• Generates vendor checks, ACH and Online payments on a weekly schedule
• Reconciles monthly vendor statements
• Establish recurring payables and process monthly
• Verifies, coordinates and post accounts receivable
• Reconciles all bank and credit card statements
• Coordinates with IT department on all IT related matters
• Manages contract and price negotiations with office vendors and service providers
• Performs monthly P&L audits to ensure accuracy of company financials and provides internal reports to management
• Maintains vendor files and subcontractor insurance certificates
• Performs other related duties as assigned by President and PM

Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within the construction industry
• QuickBooks or similar software
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
