Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.

The Anglo American Operating Model is a framework which provides a standardised and structured way to help us meet our ambition. The Operating Model guides us to set targets and develop robust, detailed strategies and plans.
Due to the implementation of the Anglo American Operating Model we have restructured Work Management across our Underground operations and are currently seeking expressions of interest for newly created Planning Coordinator roles. Once on board, you will undergo full training on new processes and systems to ensure you have the right tools to do your work effectively.
Job Description
-Reporting to the Work Management Superintendent, you will provide a pivotal liaison between inventory, scheduling, and suppliers to coordinate resources across the underground site to ensure that they are available to be utilised as per the scheduled date. This is a newly created role working alongside the Planning Coordinator and Scheduling Coordinator, together your will play a pivotal role as we transform work management across our underground operationsto ensure we safely do the Right Work at the Right time in the Right Way.

-This is a fast paced role that has to ensure lots of moving parts are available so that the execution team can safely to the work. To be successful in this role you must strong stakeholder management and exceptional project planning experience. The ideal candidate will have a high level of emotional intelligence and be able to positively influence across the business.
