Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.

Due to the implementation of the Anglo American Operating Model we have restructured Work Management across our Underground operations and are currently seeking expressions of interest for newly created Planning Coordinator roles. Once on board, you will undergo full training on new processes and systems to ensure you have the right tools to do your work effectively.

Job Description
-Reporting to the Work Management Superintendent, you will provide a pivotal liaison between inventory, scheduling, and suppliers to coordinate resources across the underground site to ensure that they are available to be utilised as per the scheduled date. This is a newly created role working alongside the Planning Coordinator and Scheduling Coordinator, together your will play a pivotal role as we transform work management across our underground operationsto ensure we safely do the Right Work at the Right time in the Right Way.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring the resource conditions and dispatch requirements on a daily basis to ensure resources are available for all approved and scheduled work onsite
• Liaising with the Planning Coordinators and Scheduling Coordinators to fine tune the planning requirements in relation to the status of resources
• Delivery confirmations with site personnel to ensure production and loading efficiencies
• Providing daily reports to internal stakeholders of progress against plan, reasons for divergence and the actions being taken to rectify
• Managing resource plans for operational, production and maintenance requirements without compromising the schedule
• Ensure any adjustments to schedules due to resource changes or business conditions are communicated in a timely manner to stakeholders and peers to ensure limited disruption to the business.

Qualifications
-This is a fast paced role that has to ensure lots of moving parts are available so that the execution team can safely to the work. To be successful in this role you must strong stakeholder management and exceptional project planning experience. The ideal candidate will have a high level of emotional intelligence and be able to positively influence across the business.

• Suitable past experience in a mining or engineering, EPCM or a capital projects environment
• Experience using SAP (mandatory) and Prometheus (desirable)
• Exceptional ability to multi-task and work within time restraints and deadlines
• Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels

• Diplomatic mindset and proven ability to work well in a team environment and across a matrixed organisation.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability foster collaborative relationships
• Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in an extremely fast-paced and high-pressure working environment.
• Extremely detail-oriented, with ability to multitask, effectively coordinate changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to pick up new systems easily and drive key projects around digital process enhancements.
