Education Data and Product Developer
Purpose of role: To contribute to the delivery of assessment products that are based on past tests and examinations (Exampro, Testbase, Highlights, MERiT) and the commissioning of new assessments and technology development. The role will have a particular focus on the use of data at all stages of product development and will require you to steer, manage, quality assure and communicate about the projects you own, working closely with Doublestruck colleagues across development and delivery.
You will need to work closely with AQA colleagues to maintain and widen channels of communication, as well as consultants, to ensure the timely delivery of products and provide feedback where necessary.

Location: Guildford, London or Manchester

Working hours: Full time

Key responsibilities:

The business depends upon the sound application of technology to meet educational needs. You should maintain an understanding of the needs of teachers and data managers and keep up to date with educational policy and pressure points for schools. You should be able to use all Doublestruck software proficiently to enhance your own work, to inform the development of new products and technologies and to create promotions for users.
Product development

• Management and ownership of computer science and maths products
• Keep relevant products up to date and ensure welcome pages and gatekeeper are refreshed with timely messages
• Liaison with AQA to align products with current specifications
• Prepare metadata for a range of qualifications to support delivery by Production
• Analyse performance data to inform reporting and product development working with Head of Digital Assessment
• Liaise with Support team to improve existing content and identify customer needs
• Evaluate existing resources and identify areas for development
• Propose new educational / assessment resources
• Support delivery of projects in line with agreed project plans

Data management

• Gather and manipulate metadata and performance data to support product delivery
• Explore and identify how best to use data to inform product development and prioritisation, including (but not limited to) enhancement of current products and development of new resources and communications campaigns
• Explore and identify how best to use and display data in user-facing tools such as MERiT and the admin console
• Represent the needs of school data managers in determining the development of MERIT – through personal experience and engagement with data managers

Training

• Deliver training – internal and external – including webinars and written guidance materials

Customer facing

• Attend events representing Doublestruck (and AQA)
• Liaise with customers (including, but not limited to, teachers) directly

Communications

• Liaise with Communications team to ensure relevant products are promoted and supported appropriately
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g. AQA) and external stakeholders (e.g. contractors)

Salary: £39,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
