We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and energetic Financial professional to join our team as an Assistant Accountant. This is a new position and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with Finance generalist experience who is looking to increase their skill set and advance their career with a large organisation.

About the role / Business Unit

This role will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reporting for the illion Group, ensuring compliance with all accounting standards, legal, taxation and internal policy.

Duties

• Preparation of journal entries in the general ledger with supporting calculations and work papers. Journals predominately relate to cash, accruals, prepayments and payroll.
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline. Reconciliations predominately relate to cash, accruals and prepayments and employee liabilities.
• Reporting and reconciliation of daily cash movements/balances
• Analysis of movements in key general ledger accounts prior to closing the month-end results, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with preparation and lodgement of tax compliance obligations, including GST, FBT, PAYG and income tax.
• Assist with annual statutory financial statements and external audit queries.

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or similar
• CA or CPA qualified, or studying towards either qualification
• Previous experience as part of a finance team in industry or with public accounting firm (non-negotiable)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Great ability in presenting and communicating information
• Exceptional analyzing and problem solving skills
• Strong collaboration and teamwork ethic
