Senior Accountant

Job Description

The position requires a “hands-on” accountant who is skilled and knowledgeable in accounting and treasury services of a dynamic payment processing company. The accountant will report to the Accounting Manager, and work closely with, both the entire management team and consultants on managing the day-to-day accounting and cash needs of the company. This position requires an individual to be multi-skilled and have an ability to work in a flat organizational structure as a peer to other employees. The accountant will be responsible for daily bank reconciliations, treasury services, submittal of wires, journal entries, and generate financial statements.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions such as:
• Accounts Receivable,
• Accounts Payable,
• Reconcile merchant accounts,
• Reconcile multiple trust accounts,
• Process credit card refunds,
• Chargebacks analysis,
• Balance credit card transactions,
• Dispute revokes with bank, and
• Escheating

• Assist with processing and paying invoices from third party vendors
• Provide support and analysis to outside consultants that manage all accounting services

Additional Responsibilities

• Work with outside service providers such as auditors and consultants
• Interact with all employees, cross over all departments, and communicate with customers, suppliers, and banking partners
• Provide miscellaneous analysis when requested by management or the board of directors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required
• Master’s degree or CPA certification, preferred
• Proficient in general ledger systems and various software platforms, such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint), ..etc…
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Proven verbal and written communications skills
• Willingness to perform basic accounting entries, analytical analysis, and train employees
• Residing in the greater Knoxville, TN area

Compensation will be commensurate with knowledge, capabilities, and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
