About the Position:

The Accounting Manager supports Mountainside’s mid and senior-level managers and achieves Key Performance Indicators through the development and effective implementation of a broad range of Accounting programs and processes. This position will support CT and NY locations and will require occasional travel. The role of the Senior Accountant is to independently perform duties related to posting Payroll and Accounts Receivable records to General Ledger, related reconciliations, and support in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Additional responsibilities will include assistance in annual financial, 401(k), and worker’s compensation audits. The position requires strong communication skills amongst the department, other departments, as well as clients and vendors. A strong attention to detail, ability to work with deadlines, and possesses a can-do attitude.

Your Role:

• Manage the financial planning and analysis [FP&A] function for the company
• Upkeep and when needed write new policies exemplifying best industry practices and strict controls
• Plan and organize all activities related to various audits with which the company is required to comply
• Keep staff accountable for maintaining adequate records and controls, necessary to documents all financial transactions
• Ensure error free and timely payroll process execution; review and approve all reconciliations and filings
• Supervise subordinate employees including setting goals, delivering timely feedback, and performing periodic performance review for the Accounting staff
• Support all departments in creating and maintaining budgets, report performance, and track trends of individual departments
• Prepare Budget Variance Reports (BVR). Work as liaison with managers to reconcile actuals to budget
• Analyze expense line items and control purchasing approvals in line with approved budget

Knowledge and Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience working within the follow areas:
• Financial reporting
• External audit liaison
• Managing teams
• Purchasing controls
• Financial systems administration
• Microsoft Excel – Intermediate to advanced knowledge required
• Past ERP system experience is required
• Sage Intacct preferred
• Cashflow 360/Bill.com (a plus)
• Paylocity (a plus)

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance – required
• Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance – preferred
• 3-5 years of relevant experience

Compensation:

• Competitive salary; comprehensive benefit package; generous PTO; paid holidays; 401(k) with employer matching; free meals and up to $75/month of wellness benefit.
• The base salary for the position is $75,000-$100,000 per year. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
