Plessey is an embedded technologies developer at the forefront of the microLED technology for augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR) display applications. We are an award-winning provider of emissive microLED displays that combine very high intensity RGB pixel arrays with high-performance CMOS backplanes to produce very high-brightness, low power and high-frame-rate image sources for HMDs, AR, and MR systems.
The position is based at our high-tech manufacturing site in Plymouth. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 16:30 with an hour for lunch. Role Responsibilities
Probation and Absence
Ensure 3 and 6 month Probation reviews are undertaken in a timely manner and letters sent on completion
Ensure Return to Work Interviews are carried out and checked
Preparation of monthly ‘Absence Report’ for the purpose of business reporting and payroll calculation.
HR System
Ensure HR System is updated with New Starter Information
Run reports from HR System as required for the HR Team and Managers
Update HR System with any employee changes (e.g. promotions, shift changes, etc) as well as employee benefit updates and ensure documents are uploaded as required.
Recruitment and Onboarding
Carry out all the administrative activities in the recruitment process, to include:
Placing adverts on external and internal sites
Arranging interviews
Undertake all necessary employment checks including right to work and qualifications
Onboarding New Starters
Requesting and checking references
Arranging New Starter inductions
Setting up employee files
Admin
Carry out general administration tasks for the HR Team
Respond to HR email enquiries from website
Ensure electronic and paper-based personnel files are maintained and filing/archiving is completed in a timely manner
Administration & management of annual company-wide events such as Flu vaccination programme and Canteen Christmas Lunch bookings
Booking and arranging Occupational Health appointments and First Aid Training as required
Annual data capture for Insurance renewals (including Life assurance and Private Healthcare)
Housekeeping relating to GDPR for paper and electronic documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
5 GCSE’s grade C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent)
Good knowledge of Microsoft packages and HR systems
Ability to work between multiple systems on a daily basis
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience in HR administration and understanding of HR processes
Effective ways of prioritising your workload
Ensure confidentiality of information is maintained at all times
Ability to work under pressure
Good attention to detail
