The building has been named ‘Yalawanyi Ganya’ which means “sitting/meeting place” in the Gathang language of the indigenous people across the MidCoast Region.

The role & you

Do you have experience in processing financial transactions in a finance based environment? Are you motivated to work for an organisation where you will have the opportunity to grow and succeed? This could be the position for you!

This a great opportunity to further develop your existing experience and work in a fast-paced and dynamic organisation.

This position is responsible for:

• Assisting with the reconciliation and payment of commissions / income on a variety of accounts
• Ensuring credit card transactions are verified, authorised and posted to accounts,
• Stocktakes and stores accounting including gravel royalties and stockpiles.
• Assisting with the management and reconciliation of Council’s bank accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum TAFE Certificate IV in Accounting / Finance or equivalent, with Diploma level qualifications highly regarded. You will also need to have demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and an ability to interpret legislation, regulations and standards.

Your strong customer service focus coupled with your ability to solve problems and effectively plan and prioritise will set you apart from the rest.

The package: Commencing salary package circa $58,000 p.a. plus superannuation.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
