Rullion Limited Looking for Project Engineer – SCADA at Warrington, Cheshire Full Time

Rullion Limited are currently recruiting on behalf of United Utilities for a Project Engineer – SCADA a 6 month contract basis.

Reporting to a Senior Engineer on engineering, technical and professional matters, you will be engaging with internal stakeholders and suppliers of services and equipment in the development of design solutions, standards and specifications.

You will be an Engineer with specialist knowledge of PLC, SCADA and Industrial Networks and demonstrable experience in the water and wastewater industry.

This role can be offered on a PAYE/Umbrella basis ONLY.

Job Accountabilities
* You will maintain and develop Engineering expertise, embracing innovative new technologies and designs while providing project-specific Engineering design and issue resolution expertise.
* You will provide input to the development of the Standards, Systems and Procedures and ensure that activities undertaken and engineering outputs provided are in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation and accepted practice.
* Additionally, you will provide supervision and guidance of Graduate Engineers and Technicians and support the Senior Engineer.
* Provide Engineering direction and governance across all and Wholesale delivery programmes.
* Contribute to operation and maintenance strategy for assets.
* Contribute to optimisation activities for assets.
* Contribute to the development and embedment of “best of breed” engineering solutions for infrastructure solutions
* Work closely with internal clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Assess and manage risk.
* Maintain and develop Engineering expertise, embracing innovative new technologies and designs.
* Help the development of the Technical Standards, Systems and Procedures for Systems.
* Drive the development of appropriate, robust, reliable, operable, maintainable and cost effective engineering designs to meet business requirements.

Knowledge and Skills
* You will have a good background knowledge of the Engineering discipline within the water industry. You will have a good working knowledge of the interfaces with other disciplines e.g. Electrical, Civil, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Modelling and Process.
* You will possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
* Industry experience of engineering, implementing and maintaining PLC and SCADA systems from Siemens/Rockwell
* Good technical understanding of architectures, experience in the application of Fieldbus and industrial networking for site systems.
* Understanding of hardware architecture design and connectivity to deliver solutions against a backdrop of an IT environment.
* Experience in aspects of security required to deliver against IT and security policies.
* Evidence of working with suppliers of services and equipment in the development of design solutions, standards and specifications.
* Ability to practically apply available and emerging technologies within engineering to deliver robust, reliable, commissionable, operable and maintainable plants within a regulatory environment.
* Ability to write clear, concise, accurate engineering & design specifications with measurable outputs.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of NEC3 contracts.
